Welcome to SIDX — The Sign-In Deaf Exchange!
My name is Tammy Sue Davis, and I’m so glad you’re here.
Like many in the Deaf community, I grew up attending my local Deaf Club — a place where culture, language, and connection came alive. Unfortunately, Deaf Clubs across the country have been declining — but here at SIDX, we’re working to change that.
SIDX is a virtual Deaf Club designed to bring people together from all over the country — no matter where you live. Our vision is bold: to become the premiere Deaf Club across the USA. And because we meet online, that dream is possible!
We meet every month — on the last Monday at 7PM EST — for connection, conversation, and community.
SIDX is for everyone who loves Deaf culture and ASL:
→ Deaf community members
→ Grassroots ASL learners
→ Interpreter Training Programs
→ ASL students
→ Allies & Professionals
If you’re looking for a space to belong — to sign, learn, and connect — this is it.
We’re also looking to partner with interpreter training programs, organizations, and community leaders who share our passion for building bridges and strengthening the Deaf ecosystem.
Want to partner with us? Have questions? Ready to get involved?

SIDX is your space. Our space.
Let’s build something amazing together.
My Deaf Club Story
I’ll never forget those Friday nights at the Deaf Club growing up.
See, back then — Deaf Club wasn’t just a “thing to do” — it was the thing to do. It was our spot. Our safe place. Our family away from family.
I remember walking in and immediately seeing people playing cards in one corner — dominoes in another — and in the middle? Oh, that’s where all the storytelling happened. Deaf people standing in a big circle, signing big, laughing loud, and telling stories like nobody else could.
And me? I was that wide-eyed younger Deaf kid just soaking it all in — watching, learning, dreaming of the day I’d have stories of my own to tell.
The Deaf Club was where I learned how to really be Deaf — proud, connected, and a part of something bigger than myself.
Fast forward to today — Deaf Clubs like that are hard to find. But I believe we can keep that spirit alive.
That’s why SIDX was born — to bring that feeling back. The connection. The culture. The belonging.
Virtual space — same Deaf vibe.
SIDX is for all of us — old school, new school, and everyone in between.
Welcome home.
Yours in Deafness,
Tammy
